Trusting in Yahuwah With All Your Heart – Part 1

Trusting in Yahuwah [the LORD], is an action – an action of faith.

Father exhorts us: “Walk by faith, not by sight” (2Corinthians 5:7).

When I trust in Yahuwah I am walking by faith. Yet, at times, trusting and walking by faith are mysteries to me.

It should be no marvel that we would struggle with understanding the ways of our Maker, Yahuwah Elohim [the Hebrew name for the LORD God], the Mighty One of Israel.

Many things He does are “Great and too marvelous for people to understand; His wonders are without number!” (Job 9:10)

Furthermore, the ways of our Maker are mysteries to the ‘natural’ man. The natural man cannot discern the things of the Spirit of Yahuwah (1Corinthians 2:14). Therefore, trusting in Yahuwah with all our heart is a spiritual action that is totally mysterious to our ‘natural’ thinking.

The great thing about Yahuwah is His generosity! Anyone who desires to know Him can know Him just by asking!

Yahuwah is not stingy in any way! He encourages us:

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, Who gives to all men liberally [bountifully], and upbraids not [reproaches not]; and it shall be given him!”  (James 1:5).

Walk By Faith, Not By Sight

This simple, yet profound, action of trusting in Yahuwah is an action of faith – not an action based on our physical senses.

The important thing about trusting in Yahuwah is to live our lives based on Father’s written Word!

Trusting in Yahuwah means we learn to avoid letting our senses – feelings or intellect – determine our beliefs. We avoid allowing ourselves to lean on our own understanding’ more than the written Word of Yahuwah.

Trusting in Yahuwah means we will keep our heart focused on the unseen, eternal realm of God’s kingdom, and seek to live our life according to its principles and standards (2Corinthians 4:17-18).

As I said, trusting in Yahuwah is a mystery to the ‘natural’ man. But the spiritually-minded will understand that walking by faith is trusting the written Words of Yahuwah [the Bible], and behaving according to those Words.

Those who believe in Yahuwah and in His Son, Yahushua Messiah [the Hebrew name for Jesus Christ], begin to understand that trusting in Him begins with knowing the meaning of His Name (Psalms 9:10).

When we begin to learn about Yahuwah, and learn what His Name means, then we begin to know His character!

It is His eternal character that makes our heart want to trust in Him:

And Yahuwah [the LORD] descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the NAME of Yahuwah [the LORD].  And Yahuwah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Yahuwah, Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God], merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truthkeeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.  (Exodus 34:5-7)

As this Scripture passage teaches us, Yahuwah is as He has described Himself —

  • merciful, longsuffering, ABUNDANT in goodness and truth, and forgiving of sins!

God’s character remains constant and everlasting! And just as we easily trust those whose character is honest and good and reliable, in the same way, we can trust Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God], our Maker, with all our heart!

As His Name reveals, Yahuwah Elohim, the Holy One of Israel, is trust-worthy!

Who could logically refuse to trust Him? Only someone who is not being honest.

Thy Lovingkindness Is Excellent!

How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.  They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness (abundance) of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. (Psalms 36:7-8)

As the above passage shows us, Yahuwah’s children want to put their trust in Him because they know that His lovingkindness is excellent!

When we begin to know Father, learning about His character [His goodness and kindness], and what He is really like, then trusting in Yahuwah becomes easy.

Yahuwah is good and faithful and full of compassion! He wants what is truly good for us. His heart’s desire is for our well-being!

A Gold Mine

The following Scripture is a gold mine for the spiritually-minded:

Trust in Yahuwah [the LORD] with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.  (Proverbs 3:5-6)

These verses give us clear instructions on how to trust in Yahuwah with all our heart!

A major and vital way to trust Him is by simply acknowledging Him in all our ways!

When we acknowledge Yahuwah in all our ways, thanking Him, and proclaiming with our words that we want His guidance and direction in all our ways, then He promises to [He wants to] direct our path.

  • Trusting in Yahuwah is to obey His directions!

In the above verse from Proverbs teaches us that one way of ‘trusting in Him’ is to obey this simple direction of acknowledging Him in all our ways.

We acknowledge Him by thanking Him for His abundant mercies. We acknowledge Him by committing our ways to Him each day. This is a total relief and release for us! We can stop trying to figure out what to do to make things turn out well and good.

In order to ‘trust in Him‘, all we have to do is obey His Words, and more specifically, obey these simple directions to acknowledge Him in all our ways!

“Trusting God is not a feeling, it is a decision. We cannot always change our feelings, but we can exercise our will. We can decide with our will to trust God [no matter what] — trust Him with our concerns and fears, and then seal our decision by declaring it out loud with our voice.” – Lydia Prince

Acknowledging Him In All Your Ways

I began doing this simple action of acknowledging Him in all my ways when I first became a Believer.

Now, everyday, I say something like this to Yahuwah:

“I acknowledge You, Yahuwah, Maker of heaven and earth. I look to You. I thank You for Your abundant mercy toward me. I ask You to direct my thoughts, my words, my steps. Help me to walk in the path that You have for me today. Help me to be in the right place at the right time. Hold me close to You, and establish me in Your ways. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit to guide me according to Your plans for me today! In Yahushua Messiah’s name I pray. Amen”

This is one clear, definite action of trusting in Him.

When I acknowledge Him everyday, and even throughout the day, by asking His help in all I do, then I can rest [and trust] in His initiative, and His enabling grace, to guide me.

When I do this simple action, I am trusting in Him with all my heart!!  And, I’ve learned that Father is interested in ALL I do, so I talk to Him about the smallest of details!

As a result, I have noticed that my inner-most being is refreshed, energized, and confident of Yahuwah’s lovingkindness to lead me “in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake” (Psalms 23:3).

Begin each day by letting God hear your voice. Lift your voice to God in prayer; lay your requests before Him. Set out before Him the things you are going to have to do that day. Commit to Him the problems, the difficulties you anticipate, and then, like David (Psalms 62:5-8), you will be able to wait in expectation. You won’t be worried or fearful. You will be expecting the answers to those prayers that you committed to God in the morning.” – Derek Prince

Crying Out

There is another clear and definite way of trusting in Yahuwah that I have come to understand — a way of trusting Him that is simple, yet profound:

Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. (Psalms 22:4,5)

Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. (Psalms 62:8)

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of Yahuwah [the LORD] shall be delivered [saved]… (Joel 2:32)

As the above verses teach us, crying out to Yahuwah, pouring out our heart to Him is trusting in Him! This is amazing!

In other words, prayer is a simple and definite action of trusting in Yahuwah with all your heart!

When we talk to Father with our voice, telling Him what is truly on our heart, crying out to Him for His mercy, guidance, deliverance — that is communicating to Yahuwah our trust in Him, our faith in Him, and our obedience to Him. And that pleases Him!

Calling on His Name

Also notice that verse in Joel. Both the apostle Peter and the apostle Paul quoted that verse in the days following the resurrection of Yahushua (Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13).

The disciples knew the great importance of calling on the Name of the Creator and on His Son’s Name. They exhorted everyone to trust in the Name of the Father and in the Name of His Son! This is another way to trust in Yahuwah with all our heart — to call on the Name of Yahuwah [the LORD] and on His Son’s Name, Yahushua Messiah [Jesus Christ].

It is through our faith and trust in the mighty Name of Yahuwah and in His Son’s Name that we are delivered and saved and made strong!

. . . there is none other NAME [the name of Yahushua Messiah of Nazareth] under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved [rescued]. (Acts 4:8-12)

And they that know Your name will put their trust in You: for You, Yahuwah [the LORD], have not forsaken them that seek You. (Psalms 9:10)

When we seek Yahuwah, there is a promise for us, as this verse from Psalms reveals —Yahuwah will not abandon us. He has promised, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

They Were Helped Because They Trusted in Him

As a brief example, let’s see what Yahuwah did for the sons of Reuben, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh when they were at war with the Hagarites in 1Chronicles 5:17-20:

And they [the sons of Reuben, the Gadites, the half tribe of Manasseh] were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they [the sons of Reuben, the Gadites, the half tribe of Manasseh] cried to God in the battle, and He was entreated of them [He answered their prayer]; because they put their trust in Him. (1Chron 5:20)

Do you see what happened? They cried out!

They cried out to Yahuwah in the midst of their troubles, and He answered them! They cried out to Him, calling on Yahuwah, the Mighty One of Israel. Yahuwah answered them – because they put their trust in Him by crying out to Him!

Scripture is full of examples of those who trusted in Yahuwah by crying out to Him — King David, King Jehoshaphat, King Asa, to name a few.

Talking to Father, calling upon Him, crying out to Him — that is trusting in Yahuwah! (See Pslams 46.)

This is amazing! When these men, the sons of Israel, cried out to Yahuwah, He heard their prayer, He helped them, He delivered them!  And He will do the same for any one else who, in sincere honesty, cries out to Him!

Oh thank You Abba Father, that You are so near to us that You hear us when we simply talk to You! Help us to always remember how very close You are to us — a very present help! In Yahushua Messiah’s name I pray. Amen.

Two Simple Ways of Trusting in Him

These are two clear and definite ways of trusting in Him!

  1. to acknowledge Yahuwah in all our ways [the small and the big details],
  2. to call upon Him, to talk to Him

We can confidently trust Yahuwah, Who is good, gracious, and merciful! We can trust Him to be loving and faithful to us whenever we sincerely obey His simple directions.

Talk to Father, call upon Him, acknowledge Him in all your ways, and obey His written Word — for that is trusting in Yahuwah with all your heart!

Hello, I really needed to read about the Faith and trusting in the Father. I need help right now. I need to get my life in order and I’m tired of sinning and not trusting. I am at my wits end please pray for me

Thank you Marvin for your comment.
When we don’t know what to do, that is the time for crying out to Father for His help. I believe this is the secret to our walk with Father — to talk to Him about everything, acknowledging Him in all our ways. When we sincerely tell Him our troubles, then we must wait patiently for His answer. Trust Him because He delights in those who do! Follow Him, obey Him, and talk to Him. Then He will make His way clear to you, and you will give Him great joy (John 7:17 and 3John 1:4).
      Blessings to you, and prayers.

Yahuwah Elohim [the Hebrew name for the LORD God], Who is the Living, Eternal God, Creator of all things, came to this earth, born through a virgin birth, to communicate His character, His nature, His power, His purpose, and His plans.
