If The Righteous Scarcely Be Saved

Perhaps you are familiar with the many Scriptures describing the ‘Last Days‘ — also known as the Days of the coming of the Son of Man — the soon-coming return of Messiah Yahushua [the Hebrew name for Christ Jesus], also called Emmanuel, God with us, God manifested in the flesh, the One who is completely God and completely man.

Here are two of the Scripture passages regarding the ‘Last Days’:

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:26-27)

For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days, before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. (Matthew 24:37-39)

Before the flood in Noah’s day, people were going about their business as though things were normal.

But then … when the flood came, all were destroyed … Except For Eight Souls!

Only eight souls were saved in Noah’s day:

And Yahuwah [the LORD] said unto Noah, Come you, and all your house, into the ark; for you have I seen righteous before Me in this generation. … And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood. (Genesis 7:1,7)

In Noah’s day, wickedness abounded, but only eight people believed God and accepted His offer of escape, His solution for deliverance — His salvation.

In Noah’s day, the multitudes arrogantly scorned and mocked and rejected the lovingkindness and the truth of God. Multitudes refused to be teachable, for they refused to receive God’s Word and His Truth. They refused to do the simple and humble actions of repentance — to stop their rebellion against God!

And just as it was in Noah’s day, so it is true in our day, in this 21st Century — in these days that are just as the days of Noah!

Many features of this present age are ripe for the coming of the Saviour. We are surely living in the days that are ‘as the days of Noah’.

The days of Noah, and also the days of Lot as well, were full of violence and debauchery and perversion. These same characteristics are rampant expressions of our current times. The signs are everywhere that we are nearing the end of the age, when God will usher in the final End-Time Days of tribulation and vengeance. We do not have much time left to prepare.

Only A Handful

In our day, only a handful of people will have the understanding needed for the End-Time Days and the coming of the Son of Man.

Only a handful will truly know what it means to walk the narrow way with God which leads to life and true righteousness (Matthew 7:14).

Only a handful will know the salvation that Yahuwah Elohim [the Hebrew name for the LORD God] offers through His Son (Psalm 14:2; John 3:17-18).

Scarcely… Barely… Hardly…

And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?? (1Peter 4:18)

If the righteous scarcely be saved…

If the righteous barely be saved…

If the righteous hardly be saved…

… then how shall any of us escape, especially the ungodly and the sinner — those who refuse God’s offer of salvation and rescue?

ONLY A FEW will find the way of escape: Because narrow is the gate and constricted (difficult) is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it! (Matthew 7:14)

Warnings

The Bible is full of the warnings regarding the End-Time Days and the great tribulation. Here are only three of such Scripture passages:

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. (Matthew 24:21-22)

For, behold, the day is coming, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, saith Yahuwah [the LORD] of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. (Malachi 4:1; see also Isaiah 13:6-11)

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near. (Luke 21:25-28)

The End-Time Days will be a glorious time for those who are longing for, and eagerly anticipating, Messiah’s return because He is our Hope of Glory! At that time “He shall send His angels to gather together His chosen ones” — “the called, the chosen, the faithful” (Matthew 24:31; Revelation 17:14).

But for those who reject Messiah, the ungodly sinners who have spoken against Him, the End-Time Days will be a time of fearfulness and tribulation (see Revelation 16; Jude 1:14-15; 2Thessalonians 1).

What Does It Take???

Question: What does it take to be one of the ‘righteous ones’, one of the ‘chosen ones’, who escape the wrath and are rescued from eternal condemnation?

Answer: Humble yourself, and repent — begin to walk in obedience to God’s Word, so that you may be forgiven of your past sins and rebellion. Yield your life to Yahushua Messiah, and become ‘born-again’ so that you may be found “IN Messiah Yahushua”, as the Father tells us in His Word:

But of Him you are IN Messiah Yahushua [Christ Jesus], who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. (1Corinthians 1:30)

… I also count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Messiah Yahushua [Christ Jesus] my Lord, … so that I may gain Messiah and be found IN Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Messiah, the righteousness of God by faith. (Philippians 3:8-9)

The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. For to them God would make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, which is Messiah IN you, the Hope of Glory. (Colossians 1:26-27)

Only One Door

The righteous will scarcely be saved because just as the Ark of Noah had Only One Door, so also there is Only One Door by which sinners can be made ‘the righteousness which is of God through faith in Messiah Yahushua [Christ Jesus]’.

There is Only One Door by which sinners can be transformed and can enter into heaven and eternal life.

There is no coming to the holy and righteous God if you are trusting in your own good behaviour, your own good intentions, or your own good works!

There is no coming to God the Father unless you come through the ONE DOOR — Yahushua Messiah [Jesus Christ]!

Then said Yahushua [Jesus] unto them again, Truly, truly, I say unto you, I am The Door of the sheep…. I am The Door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture” (John 10:7, 9).

Yahushua [Jesus] said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by Me. (John 14:6)

Yahushua [Jesus] said …. Marvel not that I said unto you, You must be born again. (John 3:7)

As the above verses teach us, we must come into God’s offer of escape by Yahushua Messiah [Jesus Christ] who is The Door. By faith in Him, as the great Mediator between God and man, we come into agreement and fellowship with God. There is no entering into God’s heavenly kingdom but by being born-again through faith in Messiah Yahushua.

Do you know Him? He is the Son of God who willingly died, and shed His blood as the required payment for your sins and for mine. He was then resurrected and returned to the heavenly realm. Though He never sinned, He took the punishment for our sins because of His great love for us, so that we might escape eternal condemnation. (see John 3:16-18)

There is a day coming when the Almighty God will judge the world in righteousness by the Man, Yahushua Messiah — and He is returning soon:

God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man [Yahushua Messiah (Jesus Christ)] whom He appointed, having given proof unto all men by raising Him from the dead. (Acts 17:31).

Call Upon God In Truth

If you call upon Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God, the Heavenly Father], calling upon Him in truth – in the sincerity of your heart – then He will draw near to you, by His Holy Spirit! Yahuwah [the LORD] is near unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth. (Psalms 145:18)

If you are humble, as a little child, and talk to the Heavenly Father from your heart, then He will hear your prayer.

Do not refuse God’s offer of salvation and rescue. Start to draw near to God today, by calling upon Him in the name of His Son Yahushua (Jesus).

Read His ‘love-letter’ — His words written in the Holy Bible, and purpose to be a “Do-er” of His Words.

Perhaps you may then be among the righteous who will barely be saved . . . and not among the un-saved, the ungodly and the sinners.
