The Fountain of the Water of Life

Yoro_WaterfallI am a Thirsty Soul, searching for cool waters — the cool, refreshing, living waters of the Fountain of the Water of Life.

Thirsty Souls are looking for the clean and refreshing ‘Living Waters.’ We are searching for the cleansing of our soul. We are looking for a restoration of our inner-most-being. We yearn for the things that are restoring — pure, healing, and ever-lasting!

Where can we find these pure, ever-lasting, unseen things? Where are the pure Living Waters that will genuinely satisfy our soul?

Searching for the true Living Waters can be a real struggle. Our searchings can be full of agitation and difficulties.

I was searching for ‘something’ to satisfy my thirsty soul, and heal my wounded soul. I struggled like a-fish-out-of-water — gasping for air. Being a fish-out-of-water can be deadly! There were times when my searchings almost killed me.

But now I have learned that the ‘something’ my thirsty soul needed was the Fountain of Living Waters — the only answer for satisfying Thirsty Souls.

Yahushua Messiah [Jesus Christ] is the One and Only Person who has the ‘Living Waters.’

Messiah told us:I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely” (Revelation 21:6).

When we go to Yahsuhua by genuinely seeking Him, and begin to sincerely talk to Him (because He is a Person Who is alive and well), then something amazing happens! We begin to know the loving and refreshing waters of the Fountain of the Water of Life! Our thirsty souls will begin to know true satisfaction.

‘Something’ Better

Finally I found the something I was looking for — cool, refreshing, living waters for my thirsty soul!

Yahushua [Jesus] answered and said unto her,  If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, Give me to drink; you would have asked of Him, and He would have given you living water.  (John 4:10)

And He [Yahushua] said unto me,  It is done.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.  I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.  (Revelation 21:6)

As these verses show, Yahushua is the One Who gives Living Water to Thirsty Souls. He is the only One Who can lead us to the fountain of the waters of life (Revelation 7:17; Psalms 23:2-3).

Every day, I go to Yahushua Messiah, in prayer, and seek His refreshing living waters. When I pray and talk with Him, and study His Word [the Bible], I am drinking from the Fountain of Living Water. Little by little, His Holy Spirit cleanses me from within, giving me a clean heart. When I do what He desires of me by obeying His written Word, then He begins to satisfy my thirsty soul, and He heals my wounded soul.

What joy it is to discover Father’s Words! I am learning that He, Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God], Creator of heaven and earth, by His Holy Spirit, heals my broken heart and binds up my wounds (Psalms 147:3)!!

The Fountain of the Water of Life cleanses our soul, refreshes and restores our soul when we begin to obey Yahuwah and His WORD!

The more we spend time with Him, studying and obeying His Word, talking to Him, then the more we understand Him — understanding what it means to be in relationship with Him. As we are walking with Him, the more we understand His love for us personally, and the better the flow of His Water of Life.

This is what happened to me. I began reading certain books in the Bible. I read the book of Proverbs, then the book of John, then the book of Romans. Little by little, I gained understanding of God’ Ways. I began to talk to God and ask Him what I should do. He gave me guidance deep within my heart. He revealed to me things I needed to stop doing, and things I needed to start doing.

When I began to obey His guidance and the instructions I was finding in His WORD, my soul began to be restored. I began to know a joy and a confidence I never had before. The more I talked to Father, and the more I obeyed His guidance, the more refreshing my life became.

The Word of God

I came to understand that Father’s Word, the Bible, teaches us how to live and how to avoid the miserable fish-out-of-water struggles. The Word of God satisfies Thirsty Souls!! It teaches us how to find the peace, the healing, and the inspiration our thirsty souls long for.

How can that be?

It is because the Word of God is alive and powerful and it endures forever! (Hebrews 4:12; 1Peter 1:23)

But we must act on what we read and study, and seriously take God at His Word.

When we become Born-Again children of Yahuwah, then we will want to please our heavenly Father by becoming DO-ers of His Word. It is the obeying of God’s Word and His Torah [His instructions, counsel, and standards] that will bring peace into our soul — a peace that surpasses our understanding!

When we do what King David said:

“O taste [DO-ing His Word] and see that Yahuwah [the LORD] is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him” (Psalms 34:8)

then we will know the abundant peace and love and goodness of Yahuwah! And our thirsty soul will be refreshed!

The How-To-Live Book

There are plenty of ‘How-To’ books on every subject you can imagine.

But, how to satisfy the restless, thirsty, wounded soul? — how to heal the broken and the rejected? — how to find The Way to Eternal Life? Such a book would be a prized ‘How-To’ Book!

But that ‘How-To’ Book has been written! It’s The Bible, God’s Word!

  • “I want to know one thing — the way to heaven; and how to land safe on that happy shore. God Himself has condescended to teach the way; for this end He came from heaven. He hath written it down in a book. Give me that book! At any price, give me the Book of God!” – John Wesley

holy-bible-1The Bible is the ‘How-To-Live‘ Book: The Instruction Manual, for Thirsty Souls, for Hurting Souls! The Bible is a totally amazing book! It contains the Words of Eternal Life and Truth, and it tells us the source of the Fountain of the Water of Life!

The Fountain of the Water of Life is found …

  • when we begin to love and obey the Living God, Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God], obeying His WORD,
  • and when we receive the merciful Gift of God, His Son, Yahushua Messiah (John 3:16)!

The Bible tells us Yahushua Messiah is The WORD of God made flesh (John 1:14). The only person that has the Words of Eternal Life is Yahushua Messiah, God’s Son (John 6:68).

The Living God, Who was and Who is and Who is to come, has given us the Bible, to guide and direct our path to Him. And He gave us Yahushua Messiah to cleanse us and restore us and to bring us to the Father (see John 14:6).

The Bible is the Heavenly Father’s Words sent to us to reveal His Ways, His Plans, His Mercy, His Love! Refreshing waters for our soul is found when we learn and begin following God’s Words — the Bible!

The Father encourages us by telling us: “You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)

Stories With The Same Ending

Many have tried to disprove the Bible. This fascinates me because all such stories have the same ending.

Here are two stories to show you what happens.

Sir William Ramsay — Scottish archaeologist (1851-1939) — An atheist and the son of atheists, Ramsay tried to disprove the Bible. He was a wealthy person who had graduated from the prestigious University of Oxford.

Ramsay devoted his whole life to archaeology and determined that he would disprove the Bible.

He set out for the Holy Land and decided to disprove the book of Acts. After 25 or more years, and after releasing book after book, he became incredibly impressed by the accuracy of Luke. In his writings, Ramsay finally declared that ‘Luke is a historian of the first rank; not merely are his statements of fact trustworthy, this author should be placed along with the very greatest of historians.’

Finally, in one of his books Ramsay shocked the entire intellectual world by declaring himself to be a Christian. Numerous other archaeologists have had similar experiences. Having set out to show the Bible false, they themselves have been proven false and, as a consequence, have accepted Christ as Lord.

When confronted with the evidence of years of travel and study, Sir William Ramsay learned what many others before him and since have been forced to acknowledge: When we objectively examine the evidence for the Bible’s accuracy and veracity, the only conclusion we can reach is that the Bible is true. — Christian Trumpet Sounding

Gilbert West and Lord Nyttleton — In the first half of the 16th Century, two young men, Gilbert West and Lord Nyttleton, went to Oxford, England. They were friends of Dr. Samuel Johnson and Alexander Pope. These young men were determined to attack the very basis of the Christian faith. Nyttleton settled down to prove that Saul of Tarsus was never converted to Christianity, and West to demonstrate that Jesus never rose from the tomb.

“Some time later,” says author Michael Green in his book Man Alive (InterVarsity Press, Downers Grove, IL), “they met to discuss their findings. Both were a little sheepish. For they had come independently to similar and disturbing conclusions. Nyttleton found, on examination, that Saul of Tarsus did become a radically new man through his conversion to Christianity; and West found that the evidence pointed unmistakably to the fact the Jesus did rise from the dead.”

You may still find their book in a large library. It is titled “Observations on the History and Evidences of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ,” and was published in 1747. On the fly-leaf they printed this telling quotation …which might be adopted with profit by any modern agnostic: “Blame not before thou hast examined the truth.”Two Men Who Tried to Disprove Christianity

ALL Scripture Is Inspired By God

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine (teaching), for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect (complete), thoroughly furnished (equipped) unto all good works. (2Tim 3:16,17)

As the verses above show us, Yahuwah’s Word is totally inspired by Him, and it is good for us!

God’s Word lovingly teaches us! It teaches us The Truth, because Yahuwah cannot lie (Titus 1:2)!

God’s Word rebukes our errors. His Word corrects our faults. His Word gives us abundant, intimate instruction for How-To-Live! It teaches us how to live a good and wonderful life!

We can trust the Bible to be pure and inspired completely by the God of Truth, Yahuwah, the Creator of heaven and earth, the Holy One of Israel, the Ancient of Days (Genesis.2:4; Isaiah 48:17; Daniel 7:9,10). The more you study and obey the Words of the Bible, the more you will discover that God’s WORDS are reliable, trust-worthy, personal, and able to lead us into righteousness and blessings!

The Fountain of the Water of Life is Free

The Living Water of Life is freely given only to honest and genuinely-searching Thirsty Souls (Revelation 21:6). God knows those who are honest. Half-hearted inquirers get nothing!

If you are seeking, desperate for truth, ask Yahushua Messiah [Jesus Christ], Who is the Gift of God, for His truth to be shown to you, and He will begin to show you His ways!

Read and study His Word! Be honest and genuine with Him! Wait patiently on Him! His love for you is truly the answer for your longing soul! He will satisfy and settle your restless soul (Psalm 107:9). He will lead you into His truth (Psalm 25:5), and you, Thirsty Soul, will find the ‘something’ you’re looking for!

When you genuinely look to Yahuwah, Creator of all things, then you will find the refreshing Fountain of the Water of Life!

A Whole Heart:
What does it mean to seek God with a whole heart? When we seek for something with a ‘whole heart’, we are searching with great desire, focus, diligence, and even with a measure of passion and agony! Are we willing to put aside all other things in order to gain the supremely wonderful fellowship and friendship of Messiah?
