From the beginning of time, the LORD God, the Author of all life, has established and set in motion, the whole process of how a baby comes into this world.
Each person is the divine craftsmanship of the LORD God’s own hands. From the moment of conception, God lays His hand upon every single baby, and begins forming and ‘knitting’ together a new human life, within the special workshop of a woman’s womb.
Nothing compares to the wonder of the creation of a human baby in the womb! The 9-month process is an amazing event, and the entire progression of this event is to be valued with great awe, respect, and love. God’s ways for bringing life into this world are miraculous and mysterious.
And that is as it should be! Because Yahuwah Elohim [the Hebrew name for the LORD God] is the High and Lofty One, who inhabits eternity! His Greatness is unsearchable, and His goodness is Great! His ways are much higher and more noble than the ways of mankind (Isaiah 55:8-9; see also Psalm 145:1-21)!
“God’s goodness is great goodness, and the treasures of it can never be exhausted! The Lord is gracious to those that serve Him; He is full of compassion to those that need Him, slow to anger to those that have offended Him, and of great mercy to all that seek Him and ask of Him!” —Matthew Henry
Thanks to the tremendous advances of modern technology, we can now view the lively progress of a newly-conceived baby as he/she is growing in the womb! (See the amazing video links below.) After seeing the videos of the baby growing and moving inside the womb, there can be no excuse for us to question the validity of the life of a newly-conceived baby! Now every one can confidently know, without any doubt, that a newly-conceived baby is indeed a human life, a human person to be preserved, protected, and loved!
So why would anyone even think of aborting the divine craftsmanship of a newly-conceived preborn baby?? Sadly, there are many women who believe they have a so-called ‘good’ reason for aborting their baby.
But let’s take a brief look at only three of the many reasons for not seeking an abortion to end the life of a preborn baby.
The First and Most Important Reason For NOT Aborting a Baby
Life is a gift from Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God], our Creator! Yahuwah is excited to bring forth His wonderful works of life being birthed from the mother’s womb. And He intimately knows and loves every child, from the moment of conception, when He imparts His ‘spark of LIFE’. Each human baby is God’s workmanship, and He has an eternal plan for every single one of His marvellous works (Isaiah 44:2a; Ephesians 2:10).
However, in some cases, the conception of a baby appears dreadful, or perhaps evil, as we discussed back in Part 2 of this series: Give Birth to God’s Plans. But in those unfortunate cases, God is able to take a situation that the devil intends for evil, and turn it into something good. By Yahuwah’s infinite wisdom, He creates a good plan, a specific plan, for THAT specific, individual baby! (Genesis 50:20; Psalm 104:24; Ephesians 3:20)
Regardless of some of the regrettable circumstances that surround the conception of some babies, the fact remains: when conception occurs, God has allowed the ‘spark of LIFE’ to happen! (Psalms 104:30; Job 33:4) ([1] – See Spark of Life video link below.)
No matter what a woman may be facing when she learns that a baby has been conceived in her womb, The First and Most Important Reason for not seeking an abortion is because her baby is a precious human being that God has ordained to be alive and live. Every baby is a human being that is valuable and worth protecting! God is the Creator of all human life, and therefore none of us have a legitimate right to eliminate and destroy any life — including the innocent life of a preborn baby.
Life is precious and is to be valued and respected. God considers life so extremely precious and valuable that He has commanded us in The Sixth Commandment, saying … ‘You shall not murder‘ (Exodus 20:13).
A Second and Most Significant Reason For NOT Aborting a Baby
There are many dangers and risks associated with an abortion. The potential abortion complications can cause damage to a woman’s physical, mental, and emotional health, not to mention the death of her preborn child. Also, in some cases, complications associated with abortion may make it difficult or impossible to become pregnant in the future.
It is important for women to understand the risks and the complications associated with abortion. A woman may think that having an abortion will be a ‘quick-fix’ to her ‘problem’. But abortion is not just a one-hour appointment, during which time a woman who is ‘with child’ endures a little ‘discomfort.’
Certainly the baby in the womb will experience the pain and the torture of being sucked out of the mother’s uterus. But there are potential complications from a surgical abortion that the woman herself may experience:
- Abdominal swelling and pain after abortion
- Excessive bleeding
- Uterine perforation
- Incomplete or partial birth abortion
- Cervical tears
- Death (in rare extreme cases).
If it is a medically induced abortion, the potential side effects on the woman are:
- Excessive uterine bleeding
- Frequent uterine pain
- Ruptured ectopic pregnancy
- Pelvic infection
- Incomplete abortion
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Death
So A Second and Most Significant Reason for not seeking an abortion is because your life as a mother, and as a precious creation of the LORD God, is also valuable and worth protecting! An abortion is an unnatural and traumatic procedure to happen to a woman’s body. The side effects of an abortion can result in permanent negative effects on a woman in all three aspects of her being — spirit, soul, and body. [2]
A Third and Very Serious Reason For NOT Aborting a Baby
We do not know the plans and purposes that Yahuwah has ordained for each and every person that is conceived. But it is absolutely true that each person that IS conceived is someone that the Creator of the universe loves, and has appointed to live and fulfill God’s plans!
Parents never know what plans their child will fulfill. None of us can foresee what a child may do and become in the future (Proverbs 27:1; Ecclesiastes 11:5-6). No one should ever think that a baby in the womb has no purpose! Every baby in the womb is precious and worth protecting!
Even though a mother with an unwanted pregnancy may be facing difficuties and hardships, it is not only her own future that is at stake. The future of her child possesses an infinite number of potential blessings to multitudes. Regardless of the hardships, we must realize that our choices affect others for time and eternity. Are our choices grounded in selfish-ness or self-less-ness?
Let me illustrate the outcomes of only three children who were born into an environment of what could be considered ‘difficult’ and, at the time, shameful.
Madame Marie Curie (1867 – 1934) was a Polish, naturalized-French physicist and chemist. Marie (Maria) was born in Warsaw, Poland in the Russian Empire, and was the fifth and youngest child of her parents.
Before Marie was born, her family had lost their property and fortunes through patriotic involvements in Polish national uprisings aimed at restoring Poland’s independence. When Marie was around seven years old, one of her older sisters died of typhus. Three years later Marie’s mother died of tuberculosis.
As her father struggled to maintain enough income for his family, Marie’s childhood was one of difficulties and hardships. Yet as Marie grew up, she applied herself to her talents despite her family’s poverty, and she eventually began to do pioneering research on radioactivity.
Her combined work in physics, chemistry, and radioactivity resulted in tremendous benefits to the Health and Medical community. Marie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, the first person (and the only woman) to win the Nobel Prize twice, and the only person to win the Nobel Prize in two scientific fields. She was also the first woman to become a professor at the University of Paris. [3]
In the midst of their difficulties, Marie Curie’s parents could not have foreseen the amazing impact that their fifth child would have on the world!
George Washington Carver(1860 – 1943) was a black American agricultural scientist and inventor. Carver was born into slavery, in Newton County, Missouri, during the American Civil War, before slavery was abolished in January of 1865. His master, Moses Carver, was a German American immigrant, who had purchased George’s parents in 1855.
When George was a week old, his mother and a sister were kidnapped by night raiders from Arkansas. George’s brother, James, was rushed to safety, away from the kidnappers. Moses Carver sought to find his slaves, but found only the infant George, and was able to negotiate and gain George’s return. After slavery was abolished, Moses Carver and his wife, Susan, raised George and his older brother, James, as their own children. George was not expected to live a long life, for he was a frail and sickly child. But Moses and his wife encouraged George, and taught him the basics of reading and writing.
Just like Marie Curie, as George grew up, he applied himself to his talents, despite the many obstacles he faced as a black man in the Post Civil War era. After attending a series of schools, he earned his diploma at Minneapolis High School in Minneapolis, Kansas. Because of his interest in plants he eventually was able to attend Iowa State University, becoming the first black student at Iowa State. In 1894, Carver earned his Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, and received his Master of Science degree in 1896.
In 1896 Carver was invited to the Tuskegee Institute to head its Agriculture Department. Carver taught there for 47 years, developing the department into a strong research center. He became a successful agricultural scientist and inventor. He was widely recognized and praised for his many achievements and talents in the field of agriculture. [4]
In the midst of their difficulties, Carver’s adoptive parents could not have foreseen the amazing impact that their former-slave child would have on the world!
Alexander Hamilton (1755 or 1757 – 1804) was an American statesman, politician, legal scholar, military commander, lawyer, banker, and economist. Alexander and his older brother James were born out of wedlock in Charlestown, Nevis, a small island of the West Indies in the Caribbean Sea. When Alexander was young (possibly 10 or 11 years of age), his father James Hamilton abandoned his mother. Alexander’s mother worked to support her two children by keeping a small store. But within a few months, she contracted yellow fever and died in 1768.
After their mother’s death, Alexander’s brother James was apprenticed with a local carpenter, and Alexander became a clerk at a local import-export firm and given a home by a local merchant. Hamilton was a capable trader within the firm and became an avid reader, and later developed an interest in writing.
When he reached his teens, Hamilton went to New York to pursue his education. He had an early role in the militia as the American Revolutionary War began. In 1777, he became a senior aide to General Washington in the new Continental Army. After the war, Hamilton was elected as a representative from New York to the Congress of the Confederation
Hamilton is regarded as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. His ideas were helpful in laying the foundation for the American government and finance. Hamilton is generally regarded as an intellectually brilliant politician. [5]
In the midst of her difficulties, Alexander Hamilton’s mother could not have foreseen the amazing impact that her out-of-wedlock son would have on the world!
None of us know what tomorrow may bring forth. All of us have lives that are shaped by our own talents, ambitions, and environment. The above three examples are only three of the countless thousands of children who have grown up and have influenced others for abundant goodness. Every single person has within himself/herself the ability to do great things. But abortion cuts off and destroys the plans that God has for a person, and perhaps for the whole world.
So A Third and Very Serious Reason for not seeking an abortion is because the future of a child possesses an infinite number of potential blessings to multitudes. Yahuwah Elohim has plans and purposes for each and every person that is conceived. Let none of us ever be a part in cutting off the life of a child in the womb because that is a ‘slap in the face’ to our loving Creator.
Conclusion
It is true that our Creator has given every single person the ability to make decisions. Each one of us can choose to do whatever we please. Sadly however, it is a tragic fact that many people choose to do things that are wicked and unrighteous.
None of us can hide from Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God]. He sees all we do, and He weighs carefully the thoughts and motives of our heart. One special Day, He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, “for God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:14; see also Isaiah 3:11).
All of the heavenly Father’s works are truthful, and His ways are right. And those who walk in pride, He is able to humble! (Daniel 4:37; Proverbs 28:18; 1Peter 5:5-7)
Whenever the conception of a baby happens, it is the start of a new life, and God has a purpose for that life! Let no one kill that life! That life, that baby, is someone whom God loves and has been ordained to be! God has plans for that baby!
Therefore, may it be that each woman who carries a baby in her womb acknowledge the great and unique responsibility she has, and give birth to God’s plans! May it be that every pregnant woman will firmly reject any and all reasons to abort her baby!
