Needing His Strength

The Way of Yahuwah [the LORD] is strength to the upright.
Blessed are they whose strength is in You, Yahuwah Elohim.
They go from strength to strength.

Going from strength to strength is a good description of what life is like as we begin to grow in the knowledge and grace of our Saviour, Messiah Yahushua [Christ Jesus].

When we are grafted into God’s chosen, excellent, and good olive tree (Romans 11:17,24), then we begin taking in the strength and riches of the root of Father’s olive tree. We begin the process of growing from strength to strength, from grace to grace, and from glory to glory (Psalms 84:5,7; 2Peter 3:18; 2Corinthians 3:18).

Before we knew the Way of Yahuwah, when we were walking in our own wicked ways, we could see only ruin and dismay in Yahuwah’s Way (Proverbs 10:29). But now … now that we are washed in the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 1:5), now that our feet are set upon the solid Rock of following Messiah (1Corinthians 10:4), now we can see that His Way is strength to us.

Now, little by little, we begin to greatly desire to walk in the Way of Yahuwah, and learn His Word.

Little by little, we begin to understand that, in spite of all our problems and troubles, Father still loves us, regardless of our flaws and shame.

Little by little, we begin to truly believe that Father has accepted us unconditionally, and we are a part of His family (Ephesians 1:5-6).

Little by little, we begin to know Father’s loving care for us, not only through His Word, and through the presence and guidance of His Holy Spirit, but also through the brothers and sisters He places in our life.

Little by little, we begin to experience Father’s mercy on our behalf, by healing us, restoring us, and building us up. Our spiritual eyes are opened to see Yahuwah’s compassion for us (Matthew 9:36; 14:14; Mark 1:41; 6:34) .

The more we walk with Yahuwah, in obedience to His Word, the more understanding Father reveals to us by His Holy Spirit. The more He reveals to us, the more we desire to change, and repent of our old selfish, carnal ways. The more we shun and shed our carnality, and become subject to [yield in obedience to] Father’s Law [His house Rules for His family], then even more understanding of His ways is given to us (Romans 8:7; Psalms 50:23).

With more understanding of Father’s ways and purposes for us, then little by little, we begin to gain confidence and hope (Isaiah 12:2).

Little by little, Father gives us the courage to forgive others, to trust in His Word, and to follow Him.

Little by little, we begin to learn that whenever we seek Yahuwah, praying for guidance, for understanding, for help, He always rewards us (Hebrews 11:6).

We begin to taste of the fullness of life that Yahushua Messiah promised to those who follow Him (John 10:10).

By His grace and mercy, little by little, Father gives us the desire, the courage, and the strength to spend time in prayer with Him, to walk more completely in His ways, and to honour Him with all our heart.

He works deeply within our heart, by His Holy Spirit, helping us to trust and believe Him completely, to follow Messiah’s example, and to conform to His image (Romans 8:28-29).

Sometimes immediately, or sometimes after a struggle, we eventually want to do what is well-pleasing to Father. He gives us the “want-to” — wanting to do His will, as well as giving us the power to do it (Philippians 2:13). Little by little, we learn to seek Father and depend on His strength, to overcome our weaknesses, and to overcome the reproach of friends, family, and spiritual leaders (Zechariah 4:6).

We still encounter problems and troubles and failures. There are still parts of our old lifestyle that we want to hold on to. There are still people in our life that irritate us, frighten us, and worry us. But now, there is a difference. Now we have the Holy Spirit to caution us, direct us, convict us, strengthen us, comfort us, and encourage us, as we become “DO-ers” of His Word.

Now we are learning the ways of Yahuwah. Now we are learning how to obey His Word. Now we understand that the Way of Yahuwah is strength and protection and gladness for us. Now we are learning to look to Him in the midst of our problems, waiting expectantly for His strength and guidance.

Now we are growing in grace, and are changing from glory to glory.

And now, day by day, He renews our strength, our faith, our hope, and our love for Him, and our love for others (Isaiah 40:31).

When we need His strength …
When we need to know the Way of Yahuwah,
in the small things and in the great things,
just ask Him.

“Ask and it shall be given.”
(Matthew 7:7-8)

I cried unto You, O Yahuwah,
and You strengthen me
with strength in my soul!
(Psalms 138:3)
Oh how great is Your goodness!!
All that hope in Yahuwah,
be of good courage,
and He shall
strengthen
your heart.
(Psalms 31:19,24)

Wait on Yahuwah: be of good courage,
and He shall strengthen thine heart:
wait, I say, on Yahuwah.
(Psalms 27:14)

“I often felt myself weak in the presence of temptation, and needed frequently to hold days of fasting and prayer, and to spend as much time in overhauling my own religious life in order to retain communion with God, and to maintain a hold upon His divine strength to fulfill His purposes.”

The Son of God:
Yahuwah Elohim [the Hebrew name for the LORD God], Who is the Living, Eternal God, Creator of all things, Who can do whatever His pleases, came to this earth, born into this world through a virgin birth. He did this to communicate His character, His nature, His power, His purpose, and His plans. Only Yahushua Messiah [Jesus Christ] could have accomplished this mission, because . . . He was not an ordinary man!!

Many hold the idea that the Torah and the Holy Spirit are at odds, and cannot be reconciled. However, the Scriptures reveal that the Torah and the Holy Spirit are not at odds with each other at all — rather, they are in complete unity! They have always worked together, hand in hand, throughout history.
