The Baby in Your Womb: the Wonderful Work of God’s Own Hands

Everyone desires to be well-thought-of. We like it when others think about us with thoughts of respect, kindness, and favour.

Could it be that God also thinks about us? Yes, Father God thinks about His children with many, very wonderful thoughts — thoughts of goodness, love, and well-being (Psalms 40:5 and Deuteronomy 5:29).

We can see in Psalms 139, that King David, a man of authority and wealth, was humbled and overwhelmed by the great many intimate thoughts Yahuwah Elohim [the Hebrew name for the LORD God] had toward him:

How precious are Your thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of Your thoughts toward me! (Psalms 139:17)

When we examine the words of Psalms 139, we see that Yahuwah [the LORD] gave King David a revelation of the all-embracing, thought-FULL love of God that begins at the very start of the conception of a child in the womb.

Let’s paraphrase a few verses from Psalms 139, staying right in line with the meaning of the words:

O Yahuwah [LORD], You are all around me – in front of me and behind me. You have laid Your hand upon me. 13) For You have created my innermost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14) I will praise You, for I am awesomely, fearfully, and wonderfully made! Wonderful are Your works – and my soul knows that very well! 15) My body was not hidden from You, when I was shaped in the secret place, knit together in the depths of my mother’s womb. 16) Your eyes could see my body growing each passing day. 17) How precious are Your thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of Your thoughts toward me! (Psalms 139:5,13-17)

David’s revelation of our Creator’s intricate, divine workmanship within the womb reveals the truth of God’s life given to each child, at the moment of conception. In our mother’s womb, at the very moment of conception, God lays His hand upon us, imparts His life into us, and begins His marvellous and divine workmanship.

The High and Lofty One

Who can truly understand the scope of God’s immense love and precious thoughts toward us? God, Who is the eternal, ever-lasting God, has a never-ending, protective love for His children.

Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God], is the High and Lofty One, who inhabits eternity (Isaiah 57:15). He lives in eternity, which goes on and on, never coming to an end. God is outside of time because He created time.

And yet, He imparts the light of life into each one of us human beings at the moment of conception:

God has put eternity into man’s heart…. (Ecclesiastes 3:11b ESV)

This little phrase reveals the inescapable reality that eternity resides within one of us. We are born with this impartation of eternity, because we are created in the image and likeness of the eternal Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God]! (Genesis 1:26-27)

Within every human heart is a deep-rooted, central core, that is yearning for the fulfillment that comes only from the ever-lasting, eternal God. We will never escape what has been created deep within us.

Technology Confirms the Light of Life

Thanks to modern technology, scientists have recently discovered what is known as the “spark of life” — the moment in which a male sperm fertilizes a female egg, and a zygote cell is formed, and human life begins.

This recent discovery reveals that this “spark of life” appears to be the moment of God’s impartation of human life [1].

A zygote cell is the beginning of a new human being. Human development begins at fertilization, the process during which a male gamete or sperm … unites with a female gamete or oocyte … to form a single cell called a zygote. This zygote is a highly specialized, totipotent cell which has the ability to divide and produce all of the differentiated cells in an organism. In the first hours after fertilization, this zygote divides into identical totipotent cells. Approximately four days after fertilization and after several cycles of cell division, these totipotent cells begin to specialize. The initial single zygote cell marks the beginning of each of us as a unique individual. [2]

A Person is a Person, No Matter How Small

With this amazing advancement of modern technology, it is no longer questionable or debatable: the biological evidence is overwhelming, that human life begins at the moment of conception! An unborn child, no matter what stage of development, is a new human being: “Because, after all, a person is a person, no matter how small.” [3]

As we saw in The Baby in Your Womb: God’s Workmanship, each person is the divine craftsmanship of the LORD God’s own hands. From the moment of conception, God lays His hand upon us, and begins forming and ‘knitting’ together a new human life, within the special workshop of a woman’s womb.

It is a great mystery and a great honour that women have the exclusive right of being the vessel for God’s own personal workshop. Yahuwah has granted to women the sacred trust and privilege of carrying a newly created human being inside their womb.

Nurturing Qualities

When a child is conceived within a woman’s womb, that woman’s intrinsic qualities of nurturing, empathy, and compassion begin to prevail. God created the woman with this wisdom, so she would be a co-worker with Him.

This divine, feminine characteristic within a woman is part of Yahuwah’s careful, sensitive, and thoughtful planning for bringing His marvellous and wonderful works of life to birth.

Furthermore, when a woman is ‘with child’, she has the great honour and unique privilege of exhibiting qualities similar to the Saviour, Yahushua Messiah [Jesus Christ]:

  • A woman ‘with child’ brings new life into this world when the child in her womb comes forth to birth;
  • A woman ‘with child’ humbles herself by nurturing and serving the child in her womb from the moment of conception;
  • A woman ‘with child’ seems to have an aura of hiddenness and mystery during her time of pregnancy;
  • Yahushua Messiah was often hidden and mysterious to those around Him (Mark 1:35 and Luke 5:16);

Being ‘with child’ is a beautiful, set-apart, special time for a woman. A woman should honour that special time, and value that time as extremely impotant. She has become an honoured co-worker of life with the Creator of the universe.

The Process Set in Motion

It is a fact of life that God, the Author of all life has, from the beginning of time, set in motion the whole process of how a baby comes into this world. God’s plans for bringing life into this world are miraculous and mysterious. And that is as it should be! Yahuwah Elohim is the High and Lofty One, who inhabits eternity! His greatness is unsearchable and His ways are much higher and more noble than the ways of mankind (Psalms 145:3 and Isaiah 55:8-9)!

Regardless of some of the regrettable circumstances that surround the conception of some babies, the fact remains: when conception occurs, God has allowed the ‘spark of life’ to happen!

In some cases, the conception of a baby appears dreadful, or perhaps evil. But in those cases, God takes a situation, and by His infinite wisdom, He turns it into something good, a good plan, a specific plan, for THAT specific, individual baby! (Psalms 104:24)

Life Is A Gift

Life is a gift from Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God], our Creator! Yahuwah is excited to bring forth His wonderful works of life. And He intimately knows and loves every child, from the moment of conception.

Nothing compares to the wonder of the creation of a baby in the womb. The creation of a human baby is an amazing event, and the entire progression of that event is to be valued and embraced with great awe and respect and love. (See videos below.)

A woman who is ‘with child’ should be ecstatic with wonder and humility for being a co-worker with the Creator of life. No matter the circumstances of the conception, she has now become a chosen vessel of honour, mercy, and individual life. God has created the woman to be the valiant and capable hero for His innocent and delicate newborns. May each one of you who are ‘with child’ be of a humble spirit, and give birth to your ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’ child!

From The Beginning

Let us always remember what God saw from the beginning of time, when He first created the heavens, the earth, the living creatures, and the man and the woman:

And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good! (Genesis 1:31a)

Yahuwah has called the life He creates “very good,” even from the very beginning!

His wonderful works, His thoughtful plans — they are good and wonderful and significant!

And every baby, from the moment of conception, is a marvellous and wonderful work of God’s own hands!

The Son of God:
Yahuwah Elohim [the Hebrew name for the LORD God], Who is the Living, Eternal God, Creator of all things, Who can do whatever He pleases, came to this earth, born into this world through a virgin birth. He did this to communicate His character, His nature, His power, His purpose, and His plans. Only Yahushua Messiah [Jesus Christ] could have accomplished this mission, because . . . He was not an ordinary man!!
