The Baby in Your Womb: Give Birth to God’s Plans

Giving birth to a baby is an awesome experience. Whenever it happens, the event is surrounded with immense joy! The joy is anticipated for nine months, beginning at the start of the baby’s life — the moment of conception.

The moment of the conception of a baby is an amazing and mysterious event! It is at that very moment that a ‘spark of life’ occurs, and the life of another person begins, all within the secret depths of a woman’s womb.

But how could it happen? . . . that an innocent baby in a woman’s womb is considered, by some, as something to discard, as if the pregnancy is a burdensome inconvenience?

Of course, some babies are conceived as a result of a mutual love between a husband and wife, and therefore the anticipated birth of their baby is a joyful and most desirable event.

Yet the circumstances surrounding the conception of some babies greatly hinders the joy of their anticipated birth.

As we all know, when some babies are conceived, no one involved wants the baby!

If you are someone dealing with the ‘problem’ of an unwanted pregnancy, then stay with me and allow me to reveal a perspective that will give you hope.

Does God Make Mistakes?

It is unfortunate but true, that some babies are conceived in the midst of the trauma of rape. When this happens, usually, no one wants the baby.

And then also, some babies are conceived as the result of a momentary, forbidden pleasure between a man and woman — by those not married (fornication), or between those married to someone else (adultery). When this happens, the majority of the time, both the man and the woman have no intention of taking any responsibility for the baby.

These kind of regrettable circumstances make the birth of a baby very undesirable. And this is what I want to address.

In the case of these so-called ‘undesirable’ births, we must ask ourselves an important question:

Did God make a mistake?!?

Did God, who is the Author of Life (Psalms 36:9; John 1:3-4; John 5:26), make a mistake in allowing the ‘spark of life’ — the conception of a baby — to happen in the unfortunate circumstances described above?

I am confident that God does NOT make mistakes!!

Even in the cases of rape, incest, fornication, or adultery, if a baby is conceived, there is a very definite FACT regarding that innocent baby:

  • God, most definitely, has a plan for THAT baby! God has a specific and definite plan for each and every baby that is conceived!

No matter the circumstances surrounding the conception of a baby, the fact that conception actually occurred means that God has taken a situation that may appear dreadful, or even evil, and He has turned it into a divine plan — a specific plan — for THAT specific baby!

How can we know this?

Let me explain . . .

His Over-Riding Goodness

Of course, it is true that God does NOT desire for anyone to experience rape or incest or fornication or adultery! The heavenly Father is good! He is loving and He desires for each one of us to BE good and kind and righteous in all we do.

However, our Creator, Yahuwah Elohim [the Hebrew name for the LORD God], has given us the ability to choose what we do.

Sadly, many choose to do things that are evil, things that are wicked, and things that, perhaps unknown at the time, are offensive and grievous. Though God has revealed His ways and instructions in the Bible, unfortunately many choose to defy and ignore His instructions.

But Yahuwah is The Living God, Creator of all things, and His goodness will ultimately over-ride the wickedness in this world. He is good to all, even though we may not have the spiritual eyes to see it. Our heavenly Father’s goodness is far-reaching, and is stronger than all!

God reveals His over-riding goodness in several instances in the Bible, where He takes a situation that is evil, and He turns it into a blessing.

One Biblical example where we see this demonstrated is the account of the hatred of Joseph’s ten older brothers (See Genesis 37:3-11). It was evil for Joseph’s brothers to hate him. And because of their hatred, they eventually sold Joseph to some travelling merchants, who took him as a slave, to Egypt. Yet Yahuwah turned this evil circumstance into something that ultimately blessed multitudes! The day came when Joseph forgave his brothers, and he told them:

“You plotted evil against me, but God turned it into good, in order to preserve the lives of many people who are alive today, because of what happened” (Genesis 50:20).

What Joseph’s brothers did to him was certainly evil. But God turned their wicked plot around. God turned it into something good. And God does the same thing for us today.

Whenever a heartbreaking or unfortunate circumstance results in the conception of a baby, then God is able to turn it into something good, a blessing for many!

Regardless of some of the regrettable circumstances that surround the conception of some babies, the fact remains: when conception occurs, God has allowed the ‘spark of life’ to happen, and therefore, God has a specific plan for that specific baby. And God’s plans are always full of goodness (Jeremiah 29:11; Romans 8:28)!

The Facts of Life

We must realize that the conception of a baby is not an absolute, happen-every-time result of the sexual act! Conception is not an automatic consequence of every sexual act.

Yes, it is a fact of life that God, the Creator of all life, set in motion from the beginning of time, the whole process of how conception happens. Every one knows the ‘facts of life’ — the unchangeable law of sexual relations — that when a man and a woman come together sexually, then a baby is often the result! This fact of life is normal, natural, and necessary!

But notice that word ‘often‘. The sexual act between a man and a woman does NOT mean that a baby will always be conceived.

There are many factors necessary in order for conception to actually occur!

Certain, precise biological conditions have to be working at optimum levels for the ‘spark of life’ to occur, and for a baby to be conceived[1][2].

In this day and age of amazing technological and scientific discoveries, it is now possible to understand the intimate, complex, multi-step processes that are required for the conception of a baby to actually happen[3][4].

The whole process is so complex, so intricate, so complicated, that when conception does happen, and a baby is conceived in a woman’s womb, then it has to be because God alone has ordained it; He established and ruled it to be!

A Particular and Specific Time

Think of all the women in the Scriptures who sincerely wanted to conceive and become pregnant, yet were unable to conceive. However, it happened that these women finally did become pregnant! Why? Because at a particular and specific time, Yahuwah Elohim ordained conception to happen; He ruled it to be!

Examples such as Sarah, Abraham’s wife; Rebekah, Isaac’s wife; Rachel, Jacob’s wife; Hannah, Elkanah’s wife; Manoah’s wife (Samson’s mother); and Elizabeth, Zacharias’ wife — all these women conceived a child in their womb, ONLY at the precise time, when Yahuwah had determined it!

Only when the Living, Almighty God, Creator of the universe, determines that the specific, particular time for all the intimate, biologically complex, multi-step processes are to come together — exactly and perfectly — only then, does conception occur!

Conception is not a random thing! Conception is something ordained by the Creator of all things — Yahuwah Elohim.

It is true that many women conceive without difficulty, and that is the way Yahuwah has ordered it.

But the statistics prove that conception is not an automatic result of the sexual act. More than five million people of childbearing age in the United States — or one in every 10 couples — have problems with infertility[5].

These couples prove the fact that all the biological, complex, multi-step processes must be perfectly lined up in order for conception to happen! The only ONE who can order all these processes to be perfectly lined-up is the Creator of ALL life — the God of the Bible!

So Dear Reader, no matter how a conception occurs, a pregnancy is the start of a life that God intends to bring forth to completion, because GOD HAS A PLAN FOR THAT BABY!

Yahuwah Elohim is well able to turn what we might consider a terrible situation, into something good.

IF God allows the conception of a baby to happen, no matter what the circumstances, then we must believe God, and trust Him, that He has allowed a life to be created for a divine purpose, and according to His plan!

Minka Disbrow

Here is one modern-day example of a woman who conceived a baby as the result of a traumatic rape.

In 1928, 16-year-old Minka Disbrow was on a picnic with friends, at a park in the woods, when she was assaulted and raped, and she became pregnant. The baby was secretly born, and given up for adoption. But even before the baby was born, Minka began to love the baby growing in her womb. And though she gave the baby girl up for adoption, Minka continued to love the child, trying for decades to relocate the girl[6].

Minka finally did reconnect with her daughter, 77 years later. Minka learned that her daughter, Ruth, was blessed with six children of her own. One of her children was the NASA astronaut Mark Lee, and another son was a West Point grad, Army Lt. Col. Brian Lee[7].

We must consider the life of Minka’s daughter Ruth. She was a child conceived as a result of rape. She was adopted by a family, who loved her as their own. Ruth was a happy and grateful girl, and she eventually married, and lived a wonderful life. When we think about what happened to Ruth, we have to say, “YES, God had a plan for her life!”

As for Ruth’s six children, they would all say how immensely grateful they are that Minka did not abort her innocent child — a child that was conceived by rape.

The Plans I Have For You

We do not know the plans and purposes that Yahuwah has ordained for each and every person that is conceived. But it is absolutely true that each person that IS conceived is someone that the Creator of the universe loves, and has ordained to fulfill Yah’s plans!

Parents never know what plans their child will fulfill. But none of us should ever think that a baby in the womb has no purpose. Every baby in the womb is precious!

The womb is God’s secret and mysterious workshop, where He carefully and intricately, forms every ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’ person (Psalms 139). We should honour God’s awesome, excellent, and divine handiwork, and allow each baby to live, and fulfill the hopes and dreams that God places in their heart.

Yahuwah declares that He has plans for each one of us:

  • For I know the plans I have for you, declares Yahuwah [the LORD], plans of peace (well-being), and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
  • Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of Yahuwah [the LORD] that will stand (Proverbs 19:21)
  • But He [Yahuwah] is unchangeable, and who can turn Him back? What He desires, that He does! (Job 23:13)

These verses remind us that Yahuwah Elohim [the LORD God] has plans for every person, plans of goodness and hope. Let us not rely on our own human understanding, but let us trust in the eternal WORD of God, who is watching us, loving us, and giving blessings and mercies to those who put their hope in Him! May each one of us come into harmony with HIS plans!

It is true that our Creator has given every single person the ability to make decisions. Each one of us can choose to do whatever we please. And sadly, it is a tragic fact that many people choose to do things that are wicked and unrighteous. However God is very aware of the wicked things that go on in this world.

  • Yahuwah [the LORD] looks down from heaven; He sees all the children of men. 14) From where He sits enthroned, He looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth. 15) He fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds. (Psalms 33:13-15)
  • He who planted the ear, does He not hear? He who formed the eye, does He not see? … “Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? … Do I not fill heaven and earth?” declares Yahuwah [the LORD]. (Psalms 94:9; Jeremiah 23:24)

None of us can hide from Yahuwah. He sees all we do, and He weighs carefully the thoughts and motives of our heart. One Day, He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, “for God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil” (Ecclesiastes 12:14; see also Isaiah 3:11).

“The things [of this world] are out of course; sin is rampant, saints are wronged, they are often defeated in a righteous cause, they can meet with no justice here, justice [here] is turned into wormwood. But there is a Day coming, when God will set things right; He will do every man justice [including preborn children]; He will crown the righteous, and condemn the wicked.God has appointed a Day in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man [Yahushua Messiah (Jesus Christ)] whom He appointed, having given proof unto all men by raising Him from the dead.’ (Acts 17:31)” – Thomas Watson (emphasis mine)

The counsel and eternal plans of Yahuwah will stand firm, throughout all generations, regardless of anyone’s ignorance, disobedience, or sinfulness. God sees the wickedness more clearly than we do, and yet, He permits it. Why? Because He has given us the ability to choose what we do! But ultimately, in the perfect timing of the King of the universe, in the appointed Day, He will over-ride the wickedness of the human race, and everyone will see the divine justice of God.

All of Yah’s works are truthful, and His ways are right. And those who walk in pride, He is able to humble. The sovereign purposes of Yahuwah Elohim will prevail! (Daniel 4:37; Psalms 33:11; Isaiah 46:9-10; Proverbs 19:21):

Yahuwah tells us: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand (Isaiah 14:24)!

Let us be firm and settled in our conclusion . . . that whenever the conception of a baby happens, it is the start of a new life, and God has a purpose for that life! Let no one kill that life! That life, that baby, is someone whom God loves and has been ordained to be! God has plans for that baby!

Therefore, may it be that each woman who carries a baby in her womb, accept the new life that God has given, and then . . . give birth to God’s plans!
