A Very Little

One who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much!pic

Faithfulness in very little things is an admirable quality. Many would like to be more faithful in the little things.

Faithfulness is a necessary quality of Bride-Candidates.

Bride-Candidates are Believers in Yahushua [Jesus] whose attractiveness and beauty is seen in being faithful in the very little things of Yahuwah’s Word. This is a major feature in identifying the Bride-Candidates.

Yahushua Messiah exhorts His disciples to be faithful in a very little:

One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest (unrighteous) in a very little is also dishonest in much. (Luke 16:10)

Faithfulness, 99% of the time, relates to little things, even very little things. And what is often thought of as little or insignificant can have BIG consequences and prove to be very significant!

As Derek Prince used to say: “The small things are just as great as the great things!”

The way we handle very little things is very revealing!  A particular feature of very little things is that they reveal a great deal about our character.

More often than we would like to admit, it’s the little things reveal the inclination of our character, whether it be good or bad! What we do and what we say in the little things reveals deep-rooted tendencies.

It is the little things that reveal either a leaning toward honour and respect for Yahuwah [the LORD] and His glory, or a leaning toward worldly conformity, dishonesty, and self-centeredness. The way we manage the little things reveals our true character and motives. Little things reveal what is good about our character, or the flaws of our character. They reveal our commitment and our faithfulness to Yah’s Word, or our lack thereof.

The Quality of Our Character

Abba Father is much more interested in our character than in our intellect or talents. Why? Because it is our character that will go with us into eternity.

The quality of our character is the quality of our faithfulness, our integrity, and our trustworthiness. It is our attention to what may seem to be small or insignificant that is the true indication what our character and integrity is like.

Character is what integrity is all about! If we are a person of integrity then we will be loyal and faithful to maintain godly, virtuous behavior and speech that is in accordance with Yahuwah’s Word.

Our integrity is our honest and trust-worthy conduct and reputation. It is our steadfastness to maintain truthfulness, honour, and dignity in the midst of all circumstances, big or little. And, even in failure, a person of integrity will do the honourable actions of repentance, restitution, and reconciliation.

The Scriptures tell us that:

the integrity of the upright shall guide them” (Prov 11:3a).

If we will be faithful in the little things, especially in our obedience to the Word of Yahuwah, then our character and our integrity will be as a guiding light for us. Our integrity will determine our attention to the little things, thereby determining our faithfulness. Our conscience will be clear, tender, and obedient to the nudges of the Holy Spirit.

Abba Father is faithful and attentive to care for little things. If Father is faithful to care for something as little and as insignificant as the sparrows (Luke 12:6), then we too ought to have a faithful and attentive eye on what is small and, so-called, insignificant.

May we never forget the great significance of Yahuwah’s Word and that it is worthy of our obedience, even in the small, the ‘no-one-will-see-me’ matters.

Yahuwah’s Enabling Grace

Loving the truth of Yahuwah’s Word and relying on Yahuwah for His help is the way we gain His grace to be enabled to be faithful in the little things! Yahuwah’s grace and strength is given to us when we humble ourselves by our obedience and by admitting to Him our need for His help.

All of us need His help to be faithful, and most especially, we need His help in the little things!

Rather than seeing little things as insignificant, we need to consider little things as being valuable and important, and indeed, as being precious! Why? Because the consequences that little things convey is far more important than you or I can realize!

The consequences of attention to, or neglect of, the little things are as the ripples seen on the surface of a pond due to the drop of a pebble. The ripples fan out and affect the entire pond. In other words, the way we handle little things affects our entire being and can enhance or diminish our beauty.

Being Sensitive

Our faithful attention to the little things is part of maintaining our worship of Him in the beauty of holiness (Psalms 96:9). Therefore, let us admit our weakness, and begin asking Father’s help to regard little things with much more respect and attention! Let us seek to be faithful and attentive to the little things, being sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading which will always be in harmony with Yahuwah’s Word!

“I myself, for instance, am not especially gifted, and am shy by nature, but my gracious and merciful God and Father inclined Himself to me, and when I was weak in faith He strengthened me, while I was still young. He taught me in my helplessness to rest on Him, and to pray, even about little things, in which another might have felt able to help himself.” — J. Hudson Taylor

When we seek for Father’s help, mercy, and grace in the little things, then He is faithful to give us the enablement we need to be obedient to Him — even in the very little.

A kiss is not 'just a kiss.' When a kiss happens, something very mysterious and significant happens. In the same way, when we give our heart to Yahushua Messiah, we enter into a mysterious and significant covenant relationship with Him.
